“Technology and how it affects your life”

A computer that is the size of a desk or a cell phone that weighs in at 2.5 pounds…. You have got to be kidding! Thankfully the innovative technology of our not-so-distant past has been met with advancements that have not only improved the size of computers and cell phones, but their function as well. Today’s society not only uses these forms of technology, cell phones and computers are driving forces in how we communicate, send, and receive data and store data. Through improved technology, cell phones and computers have become items that are affordable and able to be utilized by almost everyone in today’s society. Technology has definitely affected my life and I must say this change is for the better. I rely on technology in my day-to-day life. Technology has made my life less complicated and allowed me to make improvements to my life.

One example is communication: before technology if I wanted to communicate with friends or family that lived out of state; I would call them from my landline phone or write a letter and wait on them to respond with a letter. This was sometimes difficult because the mail would get lost. I now have many options from which to choose. Cell phones have made communication with my friends and family more convenient; and computers not only allow me opportunities to communicate, but their technology offers other benefits as well.

It is difficult to imagine life today without cell phones or computers. Honestly, I cannot imagine my life without my cell phone. The technology that allows us to call friends and family or access the internet with a small hand-held device is simply astounding. In many households, the cell phone has replaced the traditional landline phone. With the innovation of wireless technology it is now possible to communicate and use the internet without being restricted to a building....
