Personal Experience in Credit

As a student, there are only limited financial resources. Some students can make sidelines to earn extra cash. But mostly, student’s money came from the allowances their parents gave them and usually, it is just enough to cover food and transportation expenses and some petty expenses like photocopying expense, and if lucky, some can make some savings. Few were lucky enough to be able to spend for more than the above mentioned expenses and usually, they were from well-to-do family. But one thing is for sure, students can’t avoid lending and borrowing money. And I’m no exception to that.

In my first and second year in college, I usually have excess in my allowance and I can save. There were times that I can lend large amount of money to my brother, roommates and board mates. I usually lend to those who show kindness to me and someone who had been with me already. With that, I can say that I can trust them. All of them can pay but not soon enough, sometimes it takes a week or two, but it’s ok as long as they will pay me back. Sometimes, it is good to lend, aside from the fact that you can help your friends, it is also like safekeeping your money so that you can’t use it to unimportant things and you can save in someone’s pocket and be able to have it in future time. But there is this one time that I lend to my board mate. He borrowed to me and said he will pay me back. I know him and his been good to me so I lend him and wait till he can be able to return back my money. But when my brother learned that I lend the guy some money, he got mad to me and said why did I lend money to the guy. He said that the guy won’t return back my money, but I don’t know that the guy is that kind of person. So I still wait, trying to convince myself that his not like that. But I’m wrong, three years has passed and his not yet paying me back. I can still see him but his not approaching me anymore, and I’m not the kind of person who always ask for...
