1. How does a healthy lifestyle affect self-image and self-esteem?
Individuals with self-esteem exude confidence because the individual is sure of self-image and are secure with the fact that through living a healthy lifestyle one is doing everything to stay healthy. These individuals eat healthy, exercise frequently, and abstain from bad habits such as smoking or drinking. Maintaining a normal weight promotes self-image visually and physically. These individuals are confident with the knowledge the individual is doing everything possible to maintain and care for the body.
2. How do you define good nutrition?
Good nutrition is the foundation for building a healthy body. It consists of eating nutritious foods from the basic food groups in specific amounts. Good nutrition includes receiving and restricting certain minerals and salt. Nutrition from the basic food groups in correct amounts permits the body to develop from the stage of pregnancy to maintaining the functions through adulthood. Certain vitamins from specific foods aid the ability to fend off some cancers and help the immune system to be strong. Without nutrition the organs, muscles, and body could sustain life.
3. What does it mean to eat a balanced diet?
A balance diet has specific amounts of the daily recommendations from the various food groups in certain amounts that meet USDA guidelines. These amounts are set to permit individuals to know what the body needs to achieve and retain good health. A balanced diet includes water for hydration and aid in the ability to eliminate waste.
