As a project manager, you are looking forward to completing your current project and then taking a European vacation with your bonus money. Shortly before bonuses are expected, however, you realize your team just missed reaching the financial goal for the quarter. As a result, you and your team will not receive bonuses. You must notify your manager and your team members about this development. You must also inform your travel agent you are unable to take the trip.

Write a letter to one party, a memo to one party, and an email to one party. Each communication must be around 250 words. Make up the content but remember to use the lecture material to form the content. Also, you might want to review the proper format of a memo, letter and email.

I am writing this letter about our Second quarter’s performance. Although my team worked hard for that quarter, we did not meet the financial goal requirements. We will continue to work hard for the company to reach the financial goal requirements. My team and I are looking forward to the next quarter and will surely work hard to receive our anticipated bonuses.

We appreciate the faith you have in us, and plan on rewarding that faith with a Third quarter that will exceed expectations.

Please let me know if we can arrange a meeting next week to discuss this matter further so we can put a game plan in effect that will make sure that we succeed not only for the next quarter, but well into next year.
