It is commonly thought that each job has its likes and dislikes. Likewise, each position within the employment also has its pluses and minuses. If I were to receive a promotion to senior management, I would make changes to my former position with the intent to decrease the level of dissatisfaction in the workplace. I feel it is a joint responsibility of management and employee to help increase job satisfaction. Working in a positive job climate increases morale and productivity. A successful business is the result of team effort with team players. With this in mind, I would be sensitive to everyone’s needs and concerns, yet, holding everyone accountable.

When asked what I like about my job, I thought about many things. Among the list are: receiving pay for a job I like doing, feeling confident about what I am doing, solving problems, learning new techniques, the professionalism, and meeting and working with others. Of all the things on my list, I receive the greatest satisfaction from helping others. I have learned how to work with others by giving respect, carrying my full share of the responsibilities, and going beyond the call of duty when necessary. For example, there are times when a fellow employee may call my department and request immediate response to a computer problem, such as the computer is down, reports are due, and further delay may cost the company millions of dollars. The requester is very stressed, and I realize I must remain calm in order to handle the situation in a timely manner. When the problem is solved, I gain great satisfaction in knowing that I have relieved the pressure off someone else, and hopefully their day will be better because of my efforts.
