Problem Statement

Intersect Investment Company is a financial investment firm who is struggling to regain their foothold in the industry. Like many other investment firms the events of 2001 where very damaging. Investment companies as well as other financial agencies have lost credibility on Wall Street, forcing them to expand services to consumers. Intersect has lost business due to consumers losing trust investing their money.

Introduction

Intersect Investments’ CEO Frank Jeffers has a vision of restructuring the way they do business. Jeffers’ new vision is to promote change within the company by introducing an intimacy model to Intersect’s business strategy. This model will help develop long-term relationships based on trust and customer value. However, there are several obstacles that must be overcome. The employees at Intersect Investments, like most employees, are resistant to change. They believe this new change will create more problems in the long run. Jeffers has observed this resistance to change and hired a new Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Janet Angelo. Janet Angelo has extensive experience in successfully implementing the intimacy model at two previous companies. Jeffers has put trust in Angelo to overcome the resistance and turn the company around. In order for Angelo to be successful, she will need to gain the trust of staff as well as upper management who are also not onboard with the changes. Intersect Investments must regain consumer trust and credibility on Wall Street. Once that is accomplished they can regain a top spot among their competitors within the financial industry.
