to be called on to render an account. The importance of being accounted for is because if you do not come back to formation after you go out on a convoy then they know that something happened to you. If you do not show up and you do not respond on the radio there is going to be a search for you and if there’s nothing wrong with you ( if your just late), it puts the whole unit at risk while they are out looking for you. They could be doing something of more importance. Point of accountability is to make sure all of the soldiers are there and that they are all accounted for and there is nothing wrong. If one person is not accounted for then the entire formation does not leave. They have to make sure everyone is safe. It is not just that everyone is accounted for its part of your military duty to be at formation. Accountability should be a part of everyday life. It’s also a part of civilian life too. For instance doctor’s appointments if you are late they will cancel your appointments. Interviews for various things could mess up what you were planning on doing or The definition of accountability comes from the state of being accountable; liability getting. It also shows people that you are dependable and they can count on you. If you continue to be late and not show up on time everyone will start thinking you are not trust worthy and they can’t count on you. For example if someone countines to show up late and can’t be accounted for everyone will start thinking “o we can’t trust him if we need something done” so they will not turn to you if they need something done. They will avoid picking you to help or get things done. So in conclusion Accountability means a lot to me it should be my number one priority for me, my unit, my family or anyone else that is depending on me to be prompt and on time.
