Case Study

There are several steps that Vivian Noble can take to recruit and develop her new workforce. She can start with making sure that she has the support of the top management. This step is critical for success. Once she gets the top management to show support for her ideas and program, the remaining staff members will show support as well. The leaders of the company can demonstrate that they are committed to the ongoing program by applying it to their mission statement. Incorporating the same concept into their strategic planning can also prove to be a great move on their behalf.

The following step to take would be setting up an assessment of the culture within the company, as well as the policies and ways of operations in the fields of marketing, compensations, hiring and recruiting. She can start her own set of standards for such procedures for all of the listed spheres. Those sets of standards should be available for additional assessment and, if necessary, revision should any problems or issues arise in the future. The next step would be creating such a recruitment program that would be attractive to very wide range group of people from different backgrounds and cultures. The factors that can be considered to make such program attractive would be accommodations for family, offering a variety of work arrangements, flexible schedules, as well as reasonable and attractive salaries. She should establish a training program that would take into account the cultures of the diverse workgroup. This would help employees to get used to the workplace on a much faster pace and adapt to the workplace policies and ethics. Such program should also help to identify and biases, conscious or subconscious and help to reduce them drastically to create a better work environment.
