Policing Functions

CJA/394

Jeremy Barnett

In this paper the author will examine the various perspectives of the policing function from the local, state, and federal organizational levels. This author will identify and address possible future changes in laws and the impact these changes will have on policing. The roles of policing from the local, state, and federal agencies have several roles, in which they must take part in every day. This includes12,656 local police, 3,061 sheriff’s departments, 49 state police agencies,1,376 special police agencies, and 45 federal agencies.” (Samuel Walker, Charles M. Katz, 2008)
