Cloud computing is a wonderful resource for both the business and consumer markets. Cloud storage is a technological trend that will continue to grow throughout the coming years as it becomes more developed. Cloud computing and storage has both its advantages and its disadvantages as well. Both of these advantages and disadvantages must be weighed before both business and consumer decide to use this developing technology.

Some of the advantages cloud computing include cost efficiency, storage space and backup and recovery. (Viswanathan, 2012) With the ability to use only the storage you need, when you need it, it is very easy to see where a business and consumer alike are able to save money. Many companies are offering a low monthly payment, one time payment, or even pay as you go options for cloud computing, which is very cost effective in comparison to buying expensive storage devices and licensing fees.

The storage space in cloud computing is nearly unlimited in comparison to a business storing their information themselves. If you need more storage space in the cloud it simultaneously allows for it. A business no longer has to worry about buying more storage devices to store all of their company’s information.

There is no better way to store your business information in regards to backup and recovery than to do so with cloud storage. As the name itself implies, cloud computing is comparable to a cloud. The information that you store as either a business or consumer is stored in a cloud like fashion, and then capable of being accessed from anywhere. This is important to businesses, because they are always at risk of losing important information such as business policies and customer information.
