1. We cannot not communicate – Everything we do is received interpreted by someone, somewhere. We communicate with family members, friends, coworkers, peers, professors, service personnel, significant others, and many more. We put our skills to the test everyday.

Communication is irreversible – Whether or not you mean what you say or don’t, you said and cannot be taken back. You can only apologize and hope for forgiveness. When you choose you words make sure to choose them wisely you never know who is around and who can hear you and type of impact your words gave on other people.

Communication is a process - The bits of information we collect become part of our circumstances and affect our future communication. By being more aware we can improve our communication style and learn other perspectives. No one is perfect we all have unique ways of communication.

Communication involves ethical considerations – Many communication situations we face on a daily basis include ethical choices. For example talking gossip that you heard about someone? Or refrain from sharing the information because if it gets out it could hurt that person.

2. A time where I regret something I said was last year. Back in April I was fighting with my girlfriend. I eventually said forget you because I was so angry. She broke up with me within the next 3 days. To this day I regret what I said and I wish that I could take it back. I spent days trying to apologize but she didn’t buy it. But I guess I have learned from my mistake.

3. Physical noise – Is anything external, from loud construction sounds outside a window to a bug flying around your head at an outdoor concert. Physical noise is noise that distracts us from what were doing. For example listening to music while trying to do your homework.
