Abstract

Animals are living beings that share the planets landscapes and resources just like humans. Humans view themselves as superior beings because of their higher level of intelligence and civilization. Survival of the fittest is a common phrase used to describe the triumph of those in better condition physically and mentally. However survival of the fittest is an excuse of the way humans treat animals and invade their habitats. What humans do to animals and animal habitats is not for survival, it is for the fulfillment of ones never ending desire for more riches. It is not the average man that abuses animals and animal habitats. It is the powerful and greedy people who want to own more despite having already owned so much. All beings are equal and there is a line between need and want. Humans can survive without hurting animals and animal habitats, they only choose to so they can gain more wealth.

Each year more animal species are becoming endangered, and more animal habitats are destroyed because of acts of human selfishness. Many species have already gone extinct and many more species will go extinct if humans do not take action. Deforestation is a major, global issue. It is ruining the planet as well as natural habitats of countless species of animals, some of which are already endangered. Humans created these problems therefore humans must be held accountable for fixing the errors. If nothing is done to protect animals and animal habitats, then over time all animals will go extinct and the changes in the earths’ cycles could be devastating. These changes are already visible as temperatures in the summer are constantly breaking records. Also tornadoes and other natural storms are rising because of climate change. Animals are living beings and they deserve their space and freedom. Animal abuse is disrespectful, irresponsible and self-destructive.

Abusing animals and animal habitats is disrespectful. Humans must respect the boundaries...
