QUESTION ONE

a) The system which would serve the company`s needs are:-

 Expert system

This is a system that uses artificial intelligence to make crucial decisions. Therefore this system can be installed to ensure that the executives are aided by this system to make important decisions using the shortest time possible and also with a great degree of accuracy.

 Decision support systems

This is a computer based system that has the capability of and will aid the executives in making decisions that require drill down analysis, making complex analysis and making forecasting decisions.

 Executive support system.

It is a computer based system which gives the executive easy access to key internal and external data. It provides facilities for delivery of critical information in the form of charts, reports to executives or senior managers without the need for them to learn the technical aspects of computer. It is a computer based system under the control of executive with the current status of information or conditions internal or external to the organization.

a) Add functionalities of the existing system.

Because the executives can get reports from the branches, it will be cheaper to add the executive information system tot the already existing computer based information system . this will serve the company from high costs associated with the system development.
