Modern Plague

From generation to generation there is always a plague that hunts each community. From the violence of one’s mind to the information overload of our generation today. As technology advances it has a great effect in influencing our generation from the iPod player to the Internet.

Music from each word that it gave life can have an effect in an individual’s mind; it may give a message of love or a message that is made by dirty words. As a gamer I can escape reality for a period of time just for fun, but others tend to be stuck in the virtual world and sometimes they may interchange the real life from the virtual life. Internet itself can give a great impact of influence in one’s life; the net itself can bend the truth from its users to its users, it can even bend the truth from what is right and what is wrong. Due to the technological advancement teenagers hungers or starves for social acceptance in the social community. I thought I can leave the house with just my clothes but now us teenagers cannot even leave our houses without our phone others even brings their internet with them all the time, because they wanted to be socially updated all the time.

Our generation today has benefited from all the sacrifice of the previous generation; we inherited all their dreams and all the comfort but now we have it all and we become lazy and technologically reliant in everything we do. Even as of today our wants have also become our needs.

I believe that every generation has always that great act of violence for the hunger of power. In the current Philippines starving for power has became immense, because even from the smallest position of a local government unit they would kill the threatening opposition so that they could have the position all for themselves. From the generation of my grandfather having a position in the government is always about public service, but now I see most of the people in the government make it as a money making business.
