EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report was prepared to discuss the need for an Organizational Diagnostic model for Deckers Outdoor Corporation. It will discuss the importance of conducting a diagnostic and also discuss the eleven models available to conduct the analysis. It will also cover a brief history of Deckers and also briefly mention the issues facing Deckers caused as Global Expansion stretch their communications lines and increase production costs as they cement their overseas facilities. The answers to these issues is the need for Deckers to complete the Tichy’s TPC model to highlight issues of the global expansion and assist senior leadership in formulating strategies to combat the these issues.

Introduction

Deckers Outdoor Corporation is in need of an Organizational Diagnostic model to explore and expand their capabilities. Deckers has already established its position as a footwear manufacturer and organizational diagnostics is the start to get them moving towards an already bright future. This case looks at the value of an OD diagnosis as well as the eleven different models that are available for Deckers choice. These models will be dissected by strengths, weaknesses and areas that benefit from each of the models. There is also a brief summary of Deckers Outdoor Corporation and finally the best model for Deckers to use in its OD diagnostic.
