1.0 Introduction

In this report I am going to talk about my feelings about working in a team, changes in my motivation or attitude towards the team and team activities over time, the things that challenged me most, the things that I found easy and why, key learning points from this experience, any strategies that may help me develop success in teamwork and finally how this experience and my developing skills relate to other spheres of my life.

2.0 My Feelings about Working in a Team

My feelings about working in this team were a mixed one simply because the other members I worked with came from different places with all sorts of behaviours that I had no idea of. At the beginning it was very hard for me to even communicate effectively with the rest of the team and share ideas with. Over the entire period that we worked together I could see that there was a language barrier due to that I felt reluctant in contributing. After the Forming, Storming and Norming stages (Tuckman, 1965) I gradually began to understand the group more and got used to them.

3.0 Changes in My Motivation or Attitude towards the Team and Team Activities over time

Changes of motivation and attitude can be known as concern. Working in a group is one of the most difficult things I have ever done personally. And since one is failure and success depends on other team members. I had to develop an attitude of conformity towards the team and team activities. In other words, I had to accept criticism from team members when I go wrong and also agree to the overall decision of the team. I also had to work as a team player and not an individual which was very challenging.

4.0 The Things That Challenged Me Most

The things that challenged me most were the conformity attitude that I had to adopt during the course of working in the team.
