Kudler Fine Foods Marketing Analysis

Kudler Fine Foods is a provider of quality food items to consumers in the San Diego metropolitan area, with locations in La Jolla, Del Mar, and Encinitas (Kudler Fine Foods: Sales & Marketing, 2011) . Their mission is to provide their customers with “the finest in selected foodstuffs, wines, and related needs in an unparalleled consumer environment (Kudler Fine Foods: Sales & Marketing, 2011). Kudler Fine Foods was founded by Kathy Kudler in June of 1998, and has experienced a considerable amount of growth since then. They are “now focused on expanding the services, improving the efficiency of its operations and increasing the consumer purchase cycle as a means to increasing the loyalty and profitability of its consumers” (Kudler Fine Foods: Sales & Marketing, 2011). Kudler has laid out three strategic objectives they will use in order to increases the loyalty and profitability of their customers: expanding services, frequent shopper programs, and increased efficiency.

The first strategic objective discussed by Kudler Fine Foods is to expand their current services in hopes of increasing their revenue. According to the website, “Kudler is offering parties in the store to show customers how to prepare specialty foods. The draw for the consumers is to be trained by world-renowned chefs, local celebrities, other food experts, and even Kathy Kudler herself, and to be invited to exclusive, upscale events” (Kudler Fine Foods: Sales & Marketing, 2011). These parties would be an excellent opportunity to create or update an electronic consumer database of Kudler’s customers. This could be accomplished by having a sign-in kiosk available to the customers, where they would either input or update their contact information, including a current email address and phone number.
