INTRODUCTION

The internship commenced on the 4th of June, 2012 and it was programmed by Prudential Bank Ltd to last for three (3) months. On that Monday morning, I got to the head office around 6:30am for the orientation.

The orientation began around 9:30am and Mrs. Nana Yaa Ofori-Atta took us through the orientation, as well as filling of some employment forms and then we later swore the oath of secrecy.

The head of administration and human resource later climaxed the orientation by sharing some of the company’s “DOs" and "DON'Ts" with us after which we departed into our various branches around 2:00pm.

My colleague, Nancy and I were led by one of the human resource personnel to the banking hall (Ring Road Central). He took us to the branch manager, Mr. Charles Nimoh, who later delegated the deputy branch manager, Mrs. Joyce Abankwah-Degbotse to handle us. She also handed us over to an officer named, Miss Frederica, after waiting for a while.

Miss Frederica introduced us to the various departments in the hall and to be honest, we felt welcomed by the nice smiles that showed on the faces of the staffs. Some of the departments were the Back office, Cash department, Central accounts department, Investment department, Front desk, Marketing department, and the Credit department. Eventually, she left us at the Central accounts department where we began our schedule that same day. We were later joined in the banking hall by another Valley View University colleague, Kojo.

At the Central accounts, we were trained by Mrs. Brenda Adae and Mrs. Bridget Noi. Aunt Brenda introduced us to the various vouchers used at the central accounts department. Some of...
