One Day at Class

There are many people in this world who enjoy writing, there are others who write well, but do not enjoy it, and then the rest, like myself, that neither enjoys nor have confidence in their writing. When “the rest of the people” are required to write a paper, they have a long drawn out war between time, them, and me. I cannot tell if the problem is a lack of motivation, my strategy, my lack of concentration, or combination of all bad traits to have regarding a subject. Whatever my faults are, Developmental Writing is a subject I must face.

This is where I start my journey into and through a day. Now, gracing an eight o’clock class with my presence is an accomplishment all in itself, nevertheless on a Friday, but I had to show (I had not been since the Friday before). Well I get in there, not knowing when the paper (I had not started) was due. It just so happened that the teacher, Mr. Banks, wanted to speak to me about my absences. If he had not spoken first, I would have asked him how much I missed, but I did not have to take the initiative. I simply told him about my absences. I explained that the Friday before I simply slept in, but Wednesday I had a relative who was in the hospital and I had to visit him.

We then moved on to the topic of my paper. Mr. Banks approved of my topic “journey to a personality”. Mr. Banks and I then proceeded to work on an outline that would be the basis of my paper, which I would have to write over the weekend. Once our discussion was over, about fifteen minutes were left until time came to leave for Algebra. During those fifteen minutes, I actually was somewhat productive. I Confidential tried to start writing my opening paragraph about how my personality evolved to how my personality is now (I figured my evolution was a “journey” of its own sort).

After class was dismissed, I was off to Algebra. A day is not so bad when the day improves slightly as time...
