In my opinion, the development of computing science has illustrated how technology has influenced the operation of groups, and the attitude and behavior of their members.

The systems approach considers the organization as an “open system”. Thus the interactions and communications of information between the organization members are vital for human resources management. For example, email enables the group member to communicate more conveniently even they are far away. Also the group sending function of email provides a more efficient way for information to pass rapidly among group members. What is more, the Internet has been most adopted by the organization members to search and obtain information. Nowadays, the first thing most of the organization members would do after arriving at office is turning on the computer and browsing the Internet or emails. The development of computing science plays an important role in enhancing the interactions and communications among the organization members.

However, one issue in human resources management today is the over-reliance on computers/internet. Organization members may spend too much time browsing irrelevant websites. The information from the Internet may contain some untrue message. Organization members would not pay attention to the overwhelming amount of emails. All these, on the contrary, inevitably lower the efficiency and performance of the organization.

Currently the web2.0 has enabled social networking and communications. For example, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn also become the most convenient locations for members to share their knowledge and information. With the development of Internet technology, when it reaches the stage of “web is everywhere, people live in the Internet”, organization members will essentially work in the Internet.
