Introduction

A container yard is a full hazardous place as it involves manual operation of heavy vehicles, heavy cargo containers, forklifts and cranes. A container yard normally operates 24 hours and it requires operators’ and workers’ presence throughout the day. Thereby it is 24 hour operation which requires double attention for the night shift workers. In Cargo and Container Handling Co. Ltd, already indicates several red alarms in terms of occupational health, safety and wellbeing of the employees. It is a wise decision of the management to look over this matter and take constructive remedies preventing it from further escalating. Top of that, it is also notable that that the existing situation can even lead towards activation of Trade Union actions against the management, thereby a genuine intervention from the management is required to resolve issues workers are dealing at the moment.
