ICRC (American Red Cross) is the case in which our team agreed upon for discussion and summary. ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) has key issues, internet technologies need, global operations can be expanded with the internet, and recommendations to enhance the business cross-border. Organizations will have varying or similar issues depending on the industry.

ICRC need to have ongoing training for the organization on all levels in all departments, and persistently encourage women to seek positions where men dominate. ICRC ongoing training will reduce the challenges of lack of employees, and increase gender equality, in which ICRC adopted in 2006 “gender equality policy and strategy framework” (Deresky, 2011, p. 443). Human Resources needs to implement career development which will reduce the need to have a reserve staff within the organization “promotion from within policy” (Deresky, 2011, p. 443), however ICRC needs to seek fresh eyes from other areas to assist with positive changes that can take place in organization. ICRC needs to revisit their funding strategy and study new funding possibilities in the very near future. Currently, a bad shape of the world economy is putting a strain on ICRC’s donors and other international communities’ budgets. Money is becoming more of an issue because of less funding available than before for humanitarian work in general. Internet technologies need to be upgraded with organizations, when necessary because John Doe feels new technology systems need upgrading.

The ability to target people in an emergency in the ICRC’s disaster relief work with broadband and networked devices is vital. Every day, millions of people are connecting with friends online and ICRC is using the same internet technology to help people stay safe and connect with love ones.
