The Struggles of the Nuer

The Nuer are a large group of people, approximating about 1 million people. This group of individuals is facing many hardships in their home country of Sudan and thus is looking to flee from their home country and come to America in search of freedom and prosperity. Due to civil war issues, the Nuer have been stricken with great poverty and violence among their people. Thus, migrations to other countries are attempts for a better standard of living of these individuals. With great change in living, the Nuer people must face a great deal of adaptation to the new lifestyles.

As the Nuer people migrate into a new country, their first priority is survival. They must adapt to the new lifestyle and thus make a living. The expertise of the Nuer are mainly herding cattle along with mild agriculture. In a country such as America, these expertise are seemingly useless, in which the economy is driven by highly educated individuals who lead the business and medical faculties. For this reason, these immigrants will contribute to the labour force by resorting to physical labour including; hard factory based work, cleaning services or city work such as grass cutting, street cleaning, etc. This is very useful however as it allows all businesses who are dependent on factories to continue to run. Factories will then be able to produce more goods which in turn creates more exports, adding to the wealth of the country. Along with this, the Nuer immigrants contribute to the future of America. Later generations will receive a better education and thus help in the long-run development of America. By choosing to immigrate to America, the Nuer people will not have to face much criticizing based on skin color or background making it easier for them to be successful in the country and contribute to more than just the labour aspect of the economy. Along with this, they bring their cultural identity, in which case they can sell jewelry or other cultural goods...
