Descriptive Statistics
To know the detail of the three variables that effect absent of the 100 organizations, the first we use Excel 2010 determines the descriptive statistics that shows follow.
Table 1: The descriptive statistics
| Absent | Wage | Pct PT | Pct U |
Mean | 6.232 | 23587.86 | 11.522 | 44.023 |
Standard Error | 0.3356913 | 665.6193886 | 0.807913612 | 1.92050123 |
Median | 5.65 | 22586 | 9.1 | 46.15 |
Mode | 2.1 | 22325 | 0 | 69.4 |
Standard Deviation | 3.35691296 | 6656.193886 | 8.079136117 | 19.2050123 |
Sample Variance | 11.2688646 | 44304917.05 | 65.2724404 | 368.832496 |
Range | 12.7 | 30963 | 30.8 | 87.9 |
Minimum | 2.1 | 12023 | 0 | 0 |
Maximum | 14.8 | 42986 | 30.8 | 87.9 |
Sum | 623.2 | 2358786 | 1152.2 | 4402.3 |
Count | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 |
Mean
The mean is computed by summing the observations and dividing by the number of observations.1 Following is the equation of the mean.
Mean = Sum of the observationsNumber of observations
We can see the mean of absent, wage, Pct PT, Pct U, Av Shift and UM Rel in order are 6.232, 23587.86, 11.52, 44.023, 0.67 and 0.64.
Median
The median is calculated by placing all the observations in order (ascending or descending). The observation that falls in the middle is the median. The sample and population medians are computed in the same way2. The median of those variables 6.232 of absent, 23587.86 of wage, 11.522 of Pct PT, and 44.023 of Pct U. However, these 100 organizations not depend on the sequence, so the median of those variables are meaningless.
Mode
The mode is defined as the observation (or observation) that occurs with the greatest frequency. Both the statistic and parameter are computed in the same way3. The mode of absent, wage, Pct PT and Pct U, in turn, are 2.1, 22,325, 0, and 69.4. We can put emphasis on the mode of Pct Pt is 1, which means most of organizations willing to hire full time employees than hire part time employees....
