2. What are the factors that influence perception?

Factors that influence perception are factors in the perceiver, factors in the situation and factors in the target.

When a person looks at a target and attempts to interpret what he/she sees, that interpretation is heavily influences by personal characteristics of the individual perceiver. Personal characteristics that affect a person’s perceiver included attitudes, personality motives interest, past experience, and expectation. For example if you expect your worker to be lazy or young people is aggressive, you may vexation them.

Our cultures and self perception will influence the way in which we perceive d thing. When we have low self image that come from cultural or family factors, then we may have a negative bias upon the thing that we seen. For example, a person low self image he/she might feel that “I can’t do this well”.

Characteristics of the target being observed affect us what will be perceive. In a group, loud people will get more attraction than a quiet person. The target to background also influences perception, as we tend to group close thing or similar thing together. Such as student tendency find a group members that are similar race, gender, culture and so on.

The context we assume an objects or events also quite important. The time at which an object or event process can influence a person’s an attention, as location, light, heat or code dressing of audiences. When something effects our sense of sight, sound, colours or taste, we pay attention or become attracted to getting more, getting involved, getting less or getting away.
