Preparation for OPNET Labs

The OPNET labs in this course have preconfigured scenario files that are required to do your labs. These scenario files are located in the eCollege NETW320 course and must be downloaded to your computer, unzipped and then uploaded to the Citrix Application Server for your labs to perform correctly.

This procedure will only need to be performed one time to properly initialize your environment. The following steps must be performed in sequence to ensure proper configuration and successful execution of future labs.

1. Download NETW320Scenarios.zip from Doc Sharing (be sure that you remember where you put them).

and unzip to your local C:\ drive. [pic]

2. Browse to the root of your hard drive (C:\) and click the Extract button at the bottom. [pic]

3. This will create a directory named NETW320 that contains scenarios used in your weekly lab assignments. You will now copy the NETW320 directory and all its files to Citrix using the following instructions.

4. There is Citrix-specific help information and tutorials in your Course Home->iLab tab. Please watch this video tutorial before you attempt your initial login to Citrix. If this is your first time to login to the Citrix environment on a particular computer, you will be prompted to install the Citrix client.

5. When you start the video, the window below will open.

a. As it says on the right side of the screen, if you move your cursor over the steps on the left you will see each screenshot.

b. Another important part of using Citrix applications is being able to upload files to the Citrix Server. This process can be somewhat confusing the first few times that you do it.
