. Introduction

Alaji Babatunde is a senior technical support manager at VidSoft and has an important decision to take across a request done by Alex Hsu to be transferred to another work group and go back to report directly to Babatunde. The request comes three weeks past to the team restructuration implemented by Babatunde that included the creation of a new level between him and the engineers from his team. Hsu is a technical support engineer and one of the impacted by the new organization chart implemented, passing to report according to the new manager level, to Jennah Li that was selected by an internal hiring and was already a Hsu’s coworker.

VidSoft Technologies is an Internet company that develops enterprise procurement software to varied sizes companies. The company is experiencing a fast growth since going public in 1999, when started to a period of exponential growth in both revenue and employee. VidSoft’s culture is focused on the customer satisfaction and based on empowerment, delegations of autonomy, followed development of employees’ capabilities in a scenario which requires hard work but that is accompanied by the company care through the promotion of non-working events and a relaxed environment.

The scenario requires a series of reviews of the strategy adopted to implement the new organizational chart as well as the team relationships, beyond to test the company strategic processes related to communications, team management and hiring.
