Subject: Analyzing My Co-Workers
As requested, I analyzed my co-workers, including what they do, challenges and organizational goals and pet peeves. Other topics of what do they value, how satisfying their job is and how outside issues affect their work. Hiring more employees would bring the moral up in the workplace and help the employees who do work there with stress management.
Job Description
My co-workers are Purchasing Agents for Letterkenny Army Depot. Requests for orders to include parts, office supplies, training and services are sent to our supervisors, who pass work evenly to each Purchasing Agent. We do market research to find the best price on that particular purchase. We then enter the order into our system and have our supervisors approve the purchase. After the approval is given we then place the order. Once the order is shipped and our credit cards are charged we have to reconcile the purchases in our system and in our banks system.
Challenges Face at the Job
The challenges we face right now is due to the lack of employees. At this time we only have half of the employees that we are supposed to. With the lack of staff and numerous requests coming in, we are behind on our workload. This creates a problem with the employee who submitted the request calling for status of their orders or submitting them again and making a duplicate order. This takes more time away from placing the orders.
Outside Lives and Values
The outside life of my co-workers doesn't seem to affect how they respond to their work situations. The majority of my co-workers are always professional and pleasant. The co-workers that are not always pleasant is due to the work environment.
My co-workers value family, friends and time off work. With being on mandatory overtime it's much more apparent.
