National security and terrorism are two important issues in the US. For that reason, the US spends enormous amounts of money in intelligent agencies, military and vigilance to keeps US citizens secure and to fight against terrorist units. However, that did not stop the September 11 attacks from happening; and even though, we have not have any major attack since 9/11, terrorist groups have been spreading at a faster rate than any time before in the world. It is becoming more difficult to fight against them because many they are now everywhere in small units looking like any of our neighbors. Not only terrorist are a threat to the US. Non democratic government such as Iran and China are buying more and more weapons. It seems like the US has been able to keep borders fairly secure for now, but with more enemies spreading in the world should the government be asking itself if this issues are being address in the smartest and more efficient way?

After reading several articles, and analyzing people ideas and views about how government should take different military actions, be more prepare and address social issues in the world, I do not think that in a long term the government is protecting the US in the best ways.

The first article I read was call “Coming to the Battlefield: Stone-Cold Robot Killers” In this article John Pike, the author, talks about how in the future, the US is going to transform war fighting for the sake of security and world peace by creating “American armed robots that will patrol on the ground…” ( Pike). There are many interesting things Pike says in his forecast. He says that “the large-scale organized killing that has characterized six millenniums of human history could be ended by the fiat of the American Peace”. This idea brought me back to colonial times, when Europeans invaded the new world with supremacy ideas and interest of gold and natural resource.
