Exploring the Current Financial Position

The current economy of the United States has proven to be a challenging one; companies across the map have seen some effects from the crisis, some more than others. The current state of our economy has impacted most of the publically traded companies, including Target Corporation. It seems like no company or organization has been “bullet-proof” from this global recession… Target experienced a decline first hand as their corporate financial advisers report. Target for the long run seems to be doing well but we will have to see.

Strengths

Target Corporation is reported to be a company which values their customers and it shows by as soon as you walk in the doors. By continuing self-improvement, and mutual respect; thus resulting is a prosperous and competitive corporation for many years. When you walk into Target signing is everywhere and easy to find the items you are looking for. Signs on sealing and easy to read isles which allows the consumer to easily find what they are looking for. Target caters to women more than men because in this economy women are the primary buyers of baby products, furniture, and bedding also on specialty items for the home. From the guest view of the store it has a great layout that all guests can easily find what they want and if you can’t find it there are team members ready to help you with your needs. The quality of Targets merchandise is of a high end product and in my opinion better than the competition. They market there items very well because 96% of the people recognize the Bullseye as Target. With Targets marketing techniques it really shows how well they are doing. Target was ranked No. 11 on Fortune Magazine’s list of “America’s Most Admired Companies” for 2008/2009.
