The word privatization is very well known in the people who are currently doing jobs or attached with any public sector orgnization. It means that the transfer of ownership from government to any other person or any other private sector orgnization. Unfortunately the performance of the government sector is not upto the mark as it should be. And the orgnization which are profitable and majour source of government income are now becomes as a burdun on the government. Pakistan Telecomunication was one of the most most earning department but that was privatized almost a decade ago. Pakistan International Airline (PIA), Pakistan Railways (PR), Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), Oil and Gas Devolepment Corporation Limited (OGDCL) are going to face the same experince which has been experienced by the PTCL.

In this case study we discuss about another orgnization Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR). We will focuss on the factors that lead to a profitable government orgnization to the circumstances where government become unable to bear the expensis of the orgnization and sooner or later financial cricess take the orgnization into the public sector. Thinking on this matter we will discuss the problem with the people who are attached with the orgnization for more then fifteen to twenty years,and also making a part of our study those people who joined the orgnization in the last five years.

There are some questions which will be asked to the employees of the orgnization and try to analysis the situation more closely.

1) Do you satisfy with your job?

2) Do you think you are earning enough for the time you spending with the orgnization?

3) Do you parfer to work for any other private orgnization?

4) Is the job security only reason that’s why you parfer government sector?
