I’m sure but, sometimes unsure of my career goals. When I first began college I was most certain that I was going to major in Nursing, specifically Gerontology. So I started off with setting my educational goals which were:
* Attending College
* Picking Nursing as my major
* Completing Perquisites for major
* Volunteering in hospitals/nursing homes
* Achieving a exceptional grade in each course
* Marinating a 3.5gpa or higher
* Applying for nursing program
* Completing program in no later than 2 years.
Then everything took a slight turn in my career goal, making me change my educational goals. I attended a trade school on summer break, taking a Certified Nursing assistance class. After achieving my certificate, I began to work in a nursing home/ assisted living facility, where I began to love the job, but had big problems coping once I started getting attached to patients that were there one minute, and gone the next. I realized I love the job and wouldn’t mind making it ,my career choice, but getting attached to the patients, and not knowing how to cop with there lose will be a bit harder overcoming than I expected. Which then lead me to setting educational goals in Health Administration. My educational goals are as follows:
* Find college that offers program
* Decide on whether to take online, face-to-face, or both
* See what classes will transfer from previous school I attended
* Get familiar with an academic counselor, or advisor
* Decide on how far I want to go with my education
* Complete courses
* Continuing Furthering education, while seeking job in that field of study
With achieving my educational goals that will lead me to my career success have ran me through a couple difficulties. I’ve struggled with transportation issues, which lead me to the online courses for now because they have been very convenient. I also have been faced with test anxiety.
