Health Care Industry

In the health care industry gives care to patients around the clock by diagnosing, treating, and administering care. The health care industry responds to the needs of many people, from newborn to the terminally ill. The health care industry consists of hospitals, doctors, patients, nurses, and staff members. In the rapidly changing healthcare industry, new procedures and methods of diagnosis and treatment has been made possible through technological advances. Technology plays a huge role in health care organizations and will continue in the coming decade. Technological advances have increased the longevity and improved the quality of life for many Americans. The health care industry has changed in the last 10 years. Health care in this decade will be characterized because of rising costs, Baby Boomers, and increasing customer dissatisfaction. Even though health care is continually changing, it is important that we embrace these changes in order for health care to be successful.

Change in Health Care

Health care has changed in the last 10 years by the aging of Baby Boomers. As stated by an author Unknown (2011),

In 2001, the first Baby Boomers turned 55, and in 2011 they turned 65 and they continue to ata rate of 6,800 a day. Baby Boomers continue to hit that milestone at a rate of 6,000 to 8,000 per day. The question of Social Security’s solvency is looming as well as many other state and federal entitlements for seniors (para. 3).

The loopholes in the health care industry have allowed patients, doctors, hospitals, and the government to abuse the system.
