Global Warming: What’s up with the Weather?

Is global warming real? This seems to be the debate between many scientists and politicians alike. Some would say that global warming is just natural, and that the Earth temperatures fluctuate naturally throughout long periods of time. Others would argue that humans are putting so called “greenhouse gasses” into the air which in effect is causing this global warming. The topic is highly debated and criticized, and this is due to a lack of information on earth’s climate throughout history. In this outline I will try to explain both viewpoints on global warming and the science and information used to back these theories. All references and information used in this article are obtained in the video whose title is the title of this outline: Global Warming: What’s up with the Weather?

We will first discuss the viewpoint of those who believe global warming is occurring due to human influence. One of the most recognizable advocates to global warming would be former Vice President Al Gore. He has made countless efforts to bring the issue of global warming to national attention through media and politics. An act called the “Kyoto Protocol” was suggested by many members of the United Nations, and Al Gore was a strong supporter of making this Protocol a reality in the U.S. Essentially the basis of this protocol was to regulate and stabilize greenhouse gas emissions in order to fight global warming. Many scientists felt that these gases being released into our atmosphere were a major contributor to the earths change in temperature. What was this change in temperature? According to scientists, they would say that the earth has warmed by 1o F over the past 100 years. The scientists argue that in the past 100 years, after the industrial revolution, CO2 emissions have exponentially increased causing this increase in temperature. The problem with these CO2 emissions is that...
