One of the issues that is always controversial and that incites huge debates has been and will continue to be is illegal immigration. Illegal immigration has always been a concern all over the United States but the state that surpasses all statistics is the state of California. California has an estimated 2.4 million immigrants which accounts for about 12 percent of the states population growth in the last decade. There are many reasons why illegal immigrants choose to leave there native country but the number one reason why illegal immigrants take this decision to restart their life in a different country is for financial and personal reasons. Among these reasons are better jobs and the opportunity to offer a quality education for their family in order for them to have a chance for success in life.

Other debates rise within this matter of immigration and one of the most notorious is if illegal immigrants are a burden or a benefit to the state of California and to the United States, many studies have been conducted and time after time the studies come out to be inconclusive since there is not enough evidence to proof if immigrants drain the state economy or if they pump revenue with all the taxes they pay. Californian’s concern on this topic has risen in recent months but in 2006 about 27 percent of California’s total population pointed at illegal immigration as the most important issue for the state of California. Statistics split through out the state, many think that immigration is a major problem for their state and many say that immigration is welcomed when these immigrants are seeking the welfare of their family. These split thoughts vary according to the ethnicity of that particular region in California. Immigration will continue to be a big deal for years to come especially when it has to do with education, public funds, jobs, and health care; the best thing for the public to do is to be fully aware of the path that this issue is taking in order to make...
