I attended the Wasco Recreation and Parks District meeting on September 20, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. I attended this meeting because I live in Wasco and have been in the recreational sports from begging T-Ball to Babe Ruth baseball league and was interested in seeing the planning behind these leagues.

The elected official of the Wasco Recreation parks District are: Aubrey Wimberly, George McClay, Chuck wedel, Warren Alan McDaniel, Ryan David Dickson. However only three of the five elected officials actually attended the meeting. Aubrey Wimberly a mid-20s African American gentleman. Chuck wedel and Ryan Dickson were two Caucasian men in their late forties early fifties, and seemed to be very experienced and knowledgeable about the parks a Recs.

I learned after the meeting that the meeting followed The Roberts Rule of Orders I learned this information by the District Manager, Danny Brown. He informed me that the outlined procedures were very specific and followed the agenda exactly and were to be only comments by the audience and absolutely no arguing or discussions. Although the meeting was brief and due to there only being four members in the audience it went rather smoothly and all of the outlined issues on the agenda were addressed and discussed by all three of the elected officials .

Possible approvals regarding co-sponsorship with Toys for Tigers organization for a charity softball tournament on November 1, 2012 at West Side Park and to utilized the proceeds for the annual youth Christmas toy drive. That was agreed on and voted yes by the board members. Also a possible approval of accepting the automated irrigation system construction at Cormack Park and authorizing the release of the final 10% payment after 30 days from the date of filling of the notice of completion with the county recorder’s office.

Some of the issues addressed in the meeting were how to improve productivity and reduce man hours required mowing the 44 acres of usable park...
