Organizations normally consist of diverse structures, whether in its workforce, customers, or board members. In this paper, I will discuss a diversity audit conducted at Citi. The audit consists of the organization’s background, the criteria for what I feel a diverse organization should be. By observing the work environment, conducting interviews, and doing research via Citi’s internal websites and news articles, I will show what the organizations; diversity practices really are.

Corporate History

Commemorating its 200th year, Citi is an American multinational financial services corporation headquartered in Manhattan, New York. Citi has the world’s largest financial services network, spanning 140 countries and is a primary dealer in US Treasury securities. Citi used to be the largest company and bank in the world until the global financial crises of 2008, today it is ranked 10th. Citigroup was formed on October 9, 1998, following the $140 billion merger of Citicorp and Travelers Group to create the world's largest financial services organization. Citi's Global Consumer Business (GCB ), is one of the largest retail banks in the world. It serves more than 100 million clients in 40 countries. Its’ revenues consists of 50% of the total revenue within Citicorp in 2011.. Citi's GCB businesses consists of five divisions: Retail Banking (Citibank), Citi Branded Cards (CitiCards), CitiMortgage, Commercial Banking and Retails Services

Audit Method

An organization consists of diverse supporting elements which include board members, employees, and consumers. An organizations ability to manage these elements effectively is critical to its growth and success.
