The SWOT Matrix

A SWOT matrix is a tool initiated in analyzing and providing a systematic view to help recognize an organization’s strength, weaknesses hindering organizational continuity, opportunities available and threats posed, which the organization is prone to, mostly from the external surrounding. In the case of Ford Motor Company, there has to be the analysis of the Company’s situation in relation to the SWOT elements, before any strategies are put in place The SWOT matrix for Ford is illustrated in figure 1.

The Internal External (IE) Matrix

The internal external matrix deals mostly with both the internal and external factors of an organization. This tool is helpful especially under the management of portfolio. It usually contains nine cells, and each of the cells has a specific meaning to help come up with strategies. The IE matrix for Ford is illustrated in figure 2.

Appoint a financial officer to advise the board on ensuring a large portion of the share market

Examine the products quality and push for redesigning if necessary

Use the company’s brand to portray a more appealing...
