Observations on Life

It is a special moment in our lives when we realize that we have been learning valuable lessons from our family pets. Over the last 5 years we have had one very special Welsh Corgi, Katie. We could see the deep pain in this young man, but we could not comfort him. Katie spent the entire day in this hurting sailors lap and would move only the press her face in his neck and cover his lap and chest. Every time he moved, she followed and then right back in to his lap she would go. She would look in to his eyes and nudge him. Then on Thanksgiving with twenty-two sailors and loved ones in our home, she never left him alone. This was the time we realized that she wanted to help people....
