Prostitution is an issue that is often that has been classified as a “taboo” topic and most people feel uncomfortable. Yet, it is a common occurrence all around the country. This has become an issue for both law enforcement officers and members of the community. Law enforcement officer do not have the funds to combat this crime and people are forced to see prostitutes walking up and down the street. If brothels were legalized, then law enforce can focus of other problems and prostitutes would not be seen on the streets.

The term prostitute refers to someone who engages in sexual acts for money. The question that many people have is “why some prostitution remains legal and not others? Americans see it every day, people having sex in movies, magazines, or even websites. These people would not have sex for the world to see, if not for the money. Some of these “Stars” make millions of dollars from having sex, yet the message parlor down the street gets shut down for having sex with people indoors and out of prying eyes. How was this line drawn? Some people say that movies and pictures have an artistic view while others say that it all should disappear.

Many Americans view prostitution as an ill moral act that undermines the fabric of society. While others believe that prostitution evolves naturally as a profession within a functional society. However, the vast number of Americans has become completely in differ to this issue. Over the past few decades, America has drifted away from transitional values of family and hard work. The values now focus on necessary means of work and freedom of expression above all. Many people have expressed their view of prostitution as “it’s a way to make money” and “it’s been around forever”. This point of view may become the bridge that will build a public...
