Throughout history we have read about many points that have caught our attention that will always be remembered. In this paper I will tell you about some of the major points of history in the time period of 1886-1900 granted some may ask well during this time what parts in this point in time would we remember reading about? That is what I plan on telling you about, and explaining in detail.

To begin our journey the first points of this time period that I believe were major are: Civil Rights Act, and The 14th and 15th Amendments, Civil Rights Act of 1875. The 14th amendment was important point because it, “extended the guarantees of the Constitution, and Bill of Rights to all persons born in the United States, including African Americans and former slaves; it promised that all citizens would receive the “due process of law” before having any of their constitutional rights breeched.” (Shultz, 2012) h Amendment prohibited any the next one is the 15th amendment was also important because, “which was ratified and adopted in 1870. The Fifteenth Amendment prohibited any state from denying citizens the right to vote on the grounds of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” (Schultz, 2012) The other important points were the Civil Rights Act which granted everyone no matter race, color, etc….mandatory rights which went against the South’s at the time black codes, and the Civil Rights Act of 1875 which was important with this because it, “ forbade racial discrimination in all public facilities, transportation, places of amusement, and injuries; it proved largely ineffective.” (Schultz, 2012) Even though this bill failed and that it would be over 60 years before another Civil Rights Bill would be out through vote again. All of these had an impact on today’s society by that if these were never put into effect then there still maybe segregation, racial boundaries, and no equality what so ever today.
