Political correctness Is a term which denotes language, ideas, policies, and behavior seen as seeking to minimize social and institutional offense in occupational, gender, racial, cultural, sexual orientation, certain other religions, beliefs or ideologies, disability, and age-related contexts, and doing so to an excessive extent

• How is discrimination different from prejudice and stereotyping?

Discrimination is a denial of opportunities and equal rights because of being prejudice. Prejudice is a negative attitude towards an entire category of people. Stereotyping is a unreliable generalization about all members of a group. The difference with discrimination is that people are actually denied rights. Whereas the other to is more of a thought and ill feeling. Discrimination is taking those ill feelings and thoughts and turning it into an act. Prejudice can also be a “positive outlook” as in I am a Baptist and our religion is amazing! So to ones around you it looks like you saying a positive thing, when really you are being prejudice to other religions. Stereotyping can have a “positive outlook” as well, as in All Asians are great at math! It sounds like you are saying something good when really you are not. Discrimination does not have a “positive outlook”. It denies any type of equal rights based on arbitrary reasons.
