Abstract

This topical paper includes a comprehensive overview of ISO 9000. Within this paper is the history of the International Organization for Standardization as well as the development and inception of ISO 9000. The subsections of ISO 9000 will briefly be covered so as to give the reader a snippet into the individual nature of each subsection. Upon covering the subsections, the paper will progress to an in-depth look into the ISO registration process in addition to the overall costs of the pursuit of ISO certification. Lastly, criticisms from the opponents of ISO 9000 and the benefits as seen by those in favor of the standards will be covered and rounded off with an overview of this paper.
