Flood,an environmental hazard brought about by negligence of all,caused by indiscriminate dumping of refuse at various water channels, drainages and Natural causes has rendered many homeless.

many of us are aware of the flood that began in early july 2012,and have killed 137 people and displaced over 120000 people as of 9th of sept ,killing hundreds and forcing thousands out of their homes.

More recently about 14states experienced flood in central region of nigeria which has caused the water level to increase hereby cutting off main roads which has disrupted the flow of commodities and food,destroyed houses and farmlands across the states.

The floods have started to recede in nigera however,millions of people still need help. The Nigerian Government has set up a 34 man comittee led by Agbakoba, Dangote and mike adenuga jr.

In the light of this,the department of communications and language arts would host its own fundraising barbeque for the victims of the 2012 flood.

The department will partner with Banks and multinations with special loan programs to victims to help reconstruct their homes,there would be a talk about flood insurance incase another flood happens;the environmental hazard management agency and NEMA would also be present to create awareness on proper waste management and there wouls also be entertainment.
