NAME OF THE PROJECT: TRAINING PROGRAM FOR NON-TEACHING PERSONNEL

ORGANIZATION : A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN A COUNTRY IN ASIA (OR ONE OF THE

STATES IN AMERICA)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

This project was conceptualized by the top management as a result of the continuous growth in the university, not only in terms of enrolees but also in terms of programs and courses offered and a serious plan of the Board of Trustees to put up branches in strategic places. These existing and impending changes would result to corresponding changes in the factors of production requirements, where one of which is the human resources. Aside from the need for more competent and qualified teachers, there is likewise a necessity for equally competent and qualified non-teaching staff that will provide support services. It was from this context that the training program was conceptualized.

Even before the formal implementation of the training program, the following must be determined:

1. Stakeholders of the Program. These are the people who would have interest in the program:

• School administrators

• Students

• Non-teaching personnel

• Faculty parents

The stakeholders must be identified because they are supposed to be the focus of the project. They have their own interests, expectations, and priorities. Hence, they have their own requirements that must be complied with.

2. Needs for the training. This will justify or give rationale to the project. It must be something that is worth achieving. It must be something that, when addressed or filled up, would contribute to the attainment of organizational goals and objectives. These needs can be determined through:

• Existing knowledge and skills level of the non-teaching staff. This is an inventory of what they know and are capable of doing based on their formal education background and their related experiences, both within or outside the organization.
