A Drinking Problem

When we are teenagers, many of us wonder, “Why do people drink alcohol?” There are movies where kids in college have parties where there is so much beer and hard liquor that as we age from the eight year-old to a thirteen teen year-old we realize a lot of those kids are not of age to be drinking. At this point we start to wonder what this stuff tastes like. We sneak to mom and dad’s cabinet where they keep their drinks and try a little. It tastes nasty, but we mix them with soda. Soon enough you realize it starts to get you tipsy or drunk and you feel funny. You tell your friends to come over and try it and the same thing happens to them. This point progressively increases in high school with parties as well as college where more people are of age to buy alcohol for minors. There are many parties through our lives we here about, and the more we go to them the more we are prone to drinking. The more we drink the more weight we gain as well since there is so much carbonation and sugar in liquor and beer. The carbonation and sugar, if consumed enough of them it can lead to weight gain.

I took this idea from my other papers because at Virginia Military Institute alcohol is not allowed, yet some cadets sneak it in. If caught the cadets would be punished by doing some type of workout routine or even expelled. It is allowed off post (campus); however, it is still frowned upon. In foreign countries such as Japan there is no drinking age limit. This allows for younger children to be prone to drinking at a younger age. Once they hit college and the parties start then the drinking continues and can lead to weight gain, and sometimes even severe health risks. This can lead to liver damage, heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney failure, and even obesity. The obesity portion can be caused by the high carbonation count as well as the sugar involved. The high sugar content can lead to diabetes.

This is seen throughout most teenager’s lives as well as...
