I walked into the room and there she was sitting on the sofa. She looked up and smiled a lopsided half smile. Kirstie Alley, two times Emmy award winning actress, she still looked beautiful at 60. Hello Ms. Alley, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and extend my knowledge and professional expertise to assist you. Your manager asked me to be your mentor for the next few weeks. It is my understanding that you've been struggling with weight loss for some years now; your work schedule, raising two children, pressure and criticism from your peers and the public eye is challenging. Having had weight issues myself, I can identify with you. There will be obstacles along the way but I want to give you the strength to overcome these obstacles.

I would like to observe you at different times for the first couple of weeks: your eating habits while you are home, at work or socializing and how you react to others criticism of your weight. I will take notes of my observations and we can discuss my observations later in the week. Please feel free to ask for my assistance or advice during my observations. I will provide you with an analysis of your strengths, weaknesses and where you can improve. I will be supportive and never be condescending.

What you must realize is that whatever led you to become obese is in the past. You must now focus and concentrate on becoming more health conscience. Do not worry about negative criticism from others. You will learn from mistakes you've made in the past and move forward. You will take a positive step and give up the bad habits that lead you to this situation. With the right weight loss plan and my support, I will help you begin a new journey and guide you to achieving your goal.
