As the owner of Al's and Moe's Treasures, I act as the contractor for various construction and landscaping projects for several housing authorities. All of our projects are quoted to our clients based on their specific needs. When a client requests a quote, they send me an email with the job specifics; I then forward the information to the appropriate subcontractor for that type of job. An example is forwarding a painting quote to the painting subcontractor or a landscaping job to the landscaping subcontractor. In turn the subcontractor will go to the appropriate property for a visual inspection and walk-through that allows him/her to properly estimate the job and reply to my email with his/her suggested price along with any notes. I then review the notes and price so I can then reply to my clients request for a quote.

Microsoft Outlook Email

E-mail allows employees and sub-contractors to communicate with each other and clients without the need for real-time interaction. Our email system is Microsoft Outlook. Outlook communicates to the Microsoft Exchange server which allows delivery to the correct address. The phone number and the contact name are also provided along with additional notes for the account. This address book is accessible to all users.

Since our clients and subcontractors are located throughout three counties surrounding San Antonio, the email system enables us to exchange information very quickly. We are able to submit quotes to our clients in a timely matter. It is critical that the quote accounts for details justify the value of the quoted price. Each quote request is different and varies by scope of the job. E-mail is also used to communicate with material supply companies to order needed material for jobs. We are able to confirm the approved quotes with the client, and make any necessary arrangements. We can do all this without leaving the office or desk.
