My family loves to eat both Burger King and my home-cooked meals, but I have found that there are many differences in the two that play a major role in our everyday lives. Though they both can cause health concerns, the food cooked at home can be a lot healthier than a Burger King meal. Burger King allows their customers to have it their way, but you can have full control of what you want to put in your food when it is home cooked. Ask yourself; is the value menu at Burger King really saving the consumers money? I have found ways that by investing in groceries, consumers can save money, get more for your dollar, and enjoy spending time in the kitchen with the entire family. Burger King and my home cooked meals have many similarities, but are different in health concerns, food preparation, and consumers.

First, the problem with most Americans is that they will choose to dine out for all three meals of the day and over time this can cause health issues. There are a number of variables that come into play as far as health is concerned. Both Burger King and home-cooked meals can be unhealthy depending on what is served and the amount that is being served. At Burger King, the burgers are flame broiled, allowing some of the fat to drip off onto the flames. It's just like grilling at home, just with worse meat. The beef used at Burger King is of USDA Utility Cutter and Canner grade, the lowest grade of beef that the USDA gives, which is more fatty meat than what you buy at a grocery store. With home-cooked meals, the common beef bought at my discretion from grocery stores is usually 80 percent lean and 20 percent fat. Burger King contains too many calories, salt and artery-clogging cholesterol to eat every day, or even once a week.
