Birth Order

Family is the makeup of relatives and usually has its unique composition. The parents plat their role as a provider, protector, value instillers, and nurturers. All of these tasks produce children that may share values, views, mannerisms, or physical traits. The first born and last born are examined in life and trends illustrate how important birth order is in the formation of one’s character, personality, or career path. When the speculation furthers there becomes a discovery among the children. The first and last born may share familial composition, yet they display different traits.

The spiritual beliefs among children in the same family are generally shared. The first and last born may share in the faith of the parents whether it be Christian, Judaism, Buddhist, or Muslim. The parent will most likely instill values in the first and last born which adhere to the standards of the family. Integrity, honest, punctuality, family, and pride are examples of traits shared between the first and last born.

The physical similarities shared between siblings are because of shared genes in both the first and last born child. The oldest and youngest may both have blue eyes and the same shape noses. It is possible that the risk factors for some diseases will also similarly be increased. If diabetes is prevalent in the family history the risk increases and is not differential to the birth order of the child. Physically the oldest and youngest can have any combination of genes yet they are pooling from the same sources. Physical activity is represented in a study that notes the eldest child will not be the one who is engaged in the higher contact and riskier sports positions as the youngest sibling will likely thrive in. This is despite the fact that all siblings present equal involvement with sports.
